Preston found themselves in the final against good friends from down south, Watford. It was team of the year 2007 against team of the year 2008, billed to be a great final.

The dream continued as North End got off to yet another flying start, finding the net in the first two minutes. George picked the ball up down the left side, cut inside and beat two Watford defenders.

George unleashed his shot which flew into the bottom corner, North End battled well for the remainder of the first half. Watford kept North End under pressure and was awarded a penalty towards the end of the match.

Danny Roccia in the Preston goal kept his nerve and saved the penalty kick, it was almost there, we could feel it. Two minutes later, the refeere blew his whistle! There it was PRESTON NORTH END FANS TEAM - WORLDNET CHAMPIONS 2008!
