Cheers for your efforts today boys. I thought you were all outstanding and every single one of you did what I asked, and that was to wear the shirt with pride, fight for the cause and each other and for each of you to come off the pitch knowing you did your best. That's all I ask every time you play for me and you all delivered the goods today.
Adie doesn't know this but if it wasn't for Atky dropping out this morning he wouldn't have started, thank fu ck I put Adie back in at his rightful position at right-back because he's well and truly nailed that position for me today. Superb mate.
Woody bagged from 20 yards and then scored an absolute bullet header when we were up against it for the winner. Allan's goal was simply magic, taking on literally five players before cool as you like slotting home.
Stu and Chats picked up all the pieces in the middle, and everyone kept it simple like asked. Think Stu is better in that free-ish role especially when he got the space he got today, could play the football I know he can. Back four were solid.
As for the game, we played for the shirt and deservedly led through Woody and Allan at the break. They came at us in the second half but were "awarded" a penalty which was to the bemusement and confusion of every player on the pitch, the Bury lad powered home the penalty before setting up the equaliser with a header at the near post. At which point our heads went down and I had to call Tim over to get everyone back in shape.
We did, and we started pressing again because to be honest, we hammered Bury at times today - completely dominating possession. Then we got a corner following good work by Deano and Mykie again, and from this Woody, and the phrase leapt like a salmon is used a lot but did he! and powered home the eventual winner from inside the 6 yard box. Cracker.
Well played all, and see most of you Wednesday.
