Credit must go to the Oldham lads for sticking at it. They never gave in and even though we were always in charge of the game it took a great header from Chris Chambers deep into the second half to finally see us home!

As for the rest of the game the first half is best forgotten, People say to me we don't need George maybe that's true but when a team has two strong central defenders like Oldham had you definitely need somebody else apart from Chambers up front to hold the ball up for you and to bring other players in to the game. When we did get behind them there was only one person ever in the box at any one time.

Our balance wasn't right but credit to Jason, Jimmy Higgins and Chambers for working their socks off and trying to make things happen for us. Andy tried hard but he got caught offside to many times and he doesn't work close enough with Chambers.

Changing it around after 10 mins into the second half finally saw us reach the tempo that we are capable off and even though Oldham scored from their only shot on target we played a lot better. Andy was giving us width on the left Jason likewise on the right and Jimmy Higgins was continuing to drive us on from midfield.

Matty Scott also improved on his first half performance. It was a good game to watch in the second half and credit to both teams for giving everything they had in that second half, but we can't afford to start games like that again but saying that if we had scored early doors from one of our chances then it might have settled us down a bit more.

Like I say good performances from Jason, Chambers, Jimmy Higgins, Alex Higgins and Wacker also the rest of the lads improved as the game wore on and in the end we deserved to win the game but credit to Oldham for their never say die attitude.
