It's amazing what a bit of nice weather can do regarding getting your players out of bed. I had the luxury of 22 players for his game meaning I could field two different teams one in each half so what chance had the 12 lads from Grimsby got? Yet they never ever give up but the end we were just too strong for them.
The plaudits however as always go to the away side. We had 14 last week at Leicester so we know what it's like. It's alright playing home games but any side that gets on their bikes and travels with their club always as my respect because it's hard work and even harder to get any sort of result when you travel away.
On another issue the Chairman of PNE came to watch our game not for the first time and was truly amazed at the standard of play and the tempo the game was played in. He also commented about the Grimsby lads as being "true football fans" after I told him they had got up at 7am so they could play us before travelling on to Morecambe to watch their team play. So in the end we were all
winners and again we all showed what this league is all about.
As for the game the score line says it all, but it was great to give everybody half a game and every single player did himself proud. So well in lads, plus the attitude of each player was first class. If I had to pick a goal out it was 6th goal when Andy skipped to the by-line and Chambers rifled home his driven cross. Our Chairman was well impressed with that, but all goals are good goals for the individual concerned so well done to all the lads who scored.
