4-6
It's always a tall order when you’re the away side as you never have your full team and the home side usually have their strongest team out plus a few extra hours in bed and this showed in the early exchanges with Grimsby gaining early control of the game.
However their failure to make the most of that early possession gave us the chance to slowly get a foot hold in the game and once Jason started getting behind their back four things started to open up for us. Stuart who was told to attack the near post and get his shots away early and it's something I have been working on him for a while now timed his runs into the box to perfection and fired in a 20 min hat-trick to put us 3-0 in front.
I was pleased for the lad and two of his goals saw him get on the end of some great passing movement from the other lads. From there on in we were always in control and the score line might look a bit close but we had put the game to bed long before Grimsby come back with a couple of consolations goals. Great effort by all the lads today and like I say an away win especially with the fans league getting more competitive each year is a win to behold.
Well in boys great win and great day out
