4-2
Everything about Saturday felt right to me. We were down early, the pitch was in good nick we were playing in the shadow of Deepdale and we were prepared properly. The only thing I now had to get right was my team selection. 3-0 after 20 min's told me I had got it right.
Those first three goals were a credit to the all team. Jason driven cross was gleefully hammered home by Stu for the first, Chris singleton sublime cross was volley home by the provider of the first goal Jason for our second. Finally another driven cross was hammered home at the back post by Andy Dodwell. To Sheffield's credit they kept asking question of our defence but Alex Higgins was in majestic form at the back and nothing was getting past him.
Another goal just before half time was basically game over and a round of applause from the manager and all the subs greeted the players as they came of the pitch at half time. Making sure that all the squad got a good run out quite a few changes were made at half time and it seem to upset the balance a bit and Sheffield soon got themselves on the score sheet but we were still making chances and only poor finishing was stopping us adding to the score.
Sheffield deservedly grabbed another just before the end to make the score line look bit more respectable but if you have to be truthful we could and should have added quite a few more goals to our tally. Thanks to the Sheffield United lads for keeping their promise and fulfilling this fixture. Thanks also to both teams for turning out in the respective teams full strips! A lot of people were well impressed on seeing that and finally thanks to ref Dave Shaw for his efforts.
Well done lads
