PNE 3-0 Leeds

Preston took on Leeds in their first group game of WorldNET 2005. North End ran out overall winners 3-0, which saw star striker Andy bag a brace.

Preston dominated from start to finish, the Lilywhites pace throughout the team was too much for the Leeds team to deal with.

Preston took an early lead when Andy slotted the ball past an on-rushing Leeds keeper to make the score 1-0.

North End fielded their strongest team and it showed, Leeds struggled to break down Preston's stubborn defence.

Preston went to goals to the good in the second half, Andy's pace got the better of the Leeds rear guard, the pacey no.11 placed the ball into the bottom corner to give North End a two goal cushion.

Andy's strike partner Virtex soon made it 3-0 to the whites. A mix up in the Leeds defence set up target man Virtex who tapped the ball in from close range.

Overall it was a professional performance from Preston which gave manager Steve a great start to the tournament.
