Preston North End made it another early start, this time against Crystal Palace. The lads set off at 4:00am ahead of the match in London.

We found the sports complex with no real problems. North End took the game to Palace in the first half taking a two goal lead. Palace pulled a goal back midway through the second half.

Deep into added time Palace were awarded a soft penalty from nothing. Chris was unable to save them pen from the Palace keeper. The lads felt hard done by after a top performance.

Converted striker Allan Cookson grabbed both goals for Preston. Allan's first came midway through the first half. Allan found himself with an easy sight on goal, tapping in from close range.

North End's second came from the best move of the game. Steve, Lewis and Jimmy combined well in the middle to create an opening for Allan. Allan went on to secure his brace smashing the ball into the net from the right of the goal.

The astroturf didn't suit Preston's passing game as Palace found away back in the second half. The hosts pulled a goal back as Palace pressed.

Preston were unfortunate not to take a two goal lead. Andy broke free down the left, Andy was unselfish as he squared the ball back across the box. PNE failed to convert the chance.

Palace then got back into the game taking two points from the whites. Alex misjudged a tackle for the Palace striker to go down very easily. Palace won the penalty from the biased ref. The Palace keeper scored from the spot.

Ugly scenes at the final whistle, most of the PNE players protesting to the man in the middle for the farce that was the awful referring performance.

An overall good day, the main team just missed out right at the end. Thanks to everyone who took part!
