Nottingham Forest 1-1 PNE

Preston North End came up against the hardest opponents so far this season. The lads battled right to the end, earning a score draw. Jason Dodwell got the goal for Preston, with Lewis unfortunately scoring an own goal

I would have settled for a draw before the match so I have got to be happy that we managed to achieve our aim against one of the best sides we have played this season. But that statement is tinged with a little sadness as i thought we did enough especially in the last 20 min’s to take all three points!

Sorry if I sound a bit like Billy Davis but like him I feel a sense of frustration that we didn't managed to get the victory our play deserved. But if you don't take your chances you don't win matches and we certainly had enough chances to win this game.

But saying that the Forest striker header that hit the underside of the bar did cross the line so we can count ourselves lucky on that score but saying that our goal scored by Allan was not offside.............

So yes it was frustrating to see us miss some good chances near the end but from a manager’s point of view and considering the amount of people we had out I have got to be satisfied with a point. I also thought the quality of our football at times was first class.

We played some great stuff and we are always looking to "pass" our way out of trouble and that’s great to see. Our first touch is getting better as well and I think we are improving all the time and that’s great and the team sprit is really good at the moment so all in all I have to be satisfied with our days work.

Goal scorer and man of the match for Preston was Jason Dodwell.
