Lancs Constab 1-3 Preston North End

Yes I know we can hardly believe it ourselves. This result was like Darlington beating Man Utd at Old Trafford. To beat a team like that and who play their football in the West Lancs league is quite an unbelievable result for us. We went in this game hoping to improve our match fitness and learn about keeping our shape when we didn't have the ball and when we did have the ball having the confidence to pass it around when under pressure and that was it nothing more nothing less.

A draw would have been a dream result for us and after the first 20 minutes I thought we will be lucky to hang on for a draw The police one touch football must have been a joy to watch if you were watching form the sidelines. It was five minutes before one of us actually got a touch of the ball.

They passed it around like Brazil every one of there players was comfortable on the ball and their one touch passing meant you were chasing shadows for most of the time yet we hung on in there and even though they had lots of possession they weren’t really hurting us. Their first goal came as a result of one of our players doing the wrong thing in the wrong area.

all the time we kept to our game plan and slowly got began to get more of the ball as the game moved on and eventually we scored a typical PNE goal. A slick passing movement was built up before we released Andy and next minute the ball is nestling in the bottom corner of the net.

Second half more of the same but we always looked dangerous on the break and two more killer goals sealed a famous victory for us and even though constab threw everything at us we hung on for a famous victory. I still can't quite believe it myself I have played against Constab a lot in my armature days and I new what a quality side they are so for a bunch of PNE fans to beat them on their own patch is an unbelievable result
