Preston North End 2-0 Brentford

Preston faced Brentford in their second group 3 game, this match being a must win after the first game draw against Airdrie. North End went back to their strongest starting eleven, looking to bag the three points available.

North End were straight off the blocks, Jason went on a mazy run into the Brentford half. Jason did extremely well to round the keeper and smash the ball home to put Preston ahead.

North End were never really hurt from the Brentford side, who were giving some quiet dirty challenges towards the Preston players. Andy went on to get sent off, from a bizarre decision from the deluded referee.

Chris capped off a fine display from North End, who played in all yellow. Chris slotted the ball home towards the end of the match. Preston lie nicely on top of the group with 4 points. Preston now just needed a draw against Mansfield to progress into the knockout stages.
