Watford 1-4 Preston North End

Preston managed to claim another victory on the
road against Watford. Goals from Chris Chambers, Pete Heaps and
a brace from Andy Dodwell secured three points for North End.
North End were down to the bare bones, taking only
13 players down south. All 13 players played their part in a
brilliant game which whitnessed a possible goal of the season.
Chris Chambers scored the opening goal, the in form striker pounced
on a loose ball from a corner. Chambers
drilled his shot towards goal which just about crossed the line.
Preston had many chances to take a further lead
in the first half, but didn't manage to take their chances. Atky's
cross come shot came close as it sailed just over the angle.
Jonny Kershaw almost fired Preston into a two goals lead with
powerful long range effort which went just over the bar.
Watford found themselves back in the game when
they levelled the score midway through the second half. Matt
Higgins playing in goal managed to tip the Watford shot onto
the post, which rebounded to the feet of a Watford player for
an easy tap in.
The match started to get even, as both teams went
for the win. Preston found themselfs with a good chance to retake
the lead when they were awarded a penalty for a hand ball. Peter
Heaps duly obliged and smashed the ball home to regain the lead.
Andy Dodwell all but finished the game, when he
scored a Theiry Henry style cheeky back flick. Atky won cleared
the ball from midfield, to play the ball towards Jonny Kershaw.
Jonny managed to cross the ball into the box for Andy to flick
the ball home with his back heel.
Andy went on to get his brace, and eventuly finish
the scoring off. Andy found himself one on one with the Watford
keeper, to slot the ball past the keepers right hand side. The
final whislte blew, a brilliant performance from everyone who
played.
