Preston
North End 7-3 Hull City
Preston North End ran out 7-3 winners against Hull City at Springfield's.
Andy Dodwell scored a cracking opener after just one minute played.
Hull hit two goals back to put themselves in front.
Chris Chambers finished off a good Preston move to level the
scoring as it finished 2-2 at half time. Preston went on to boss
the second half when sub Jason ripped Hull apart with two quick
fire goals. North End went 4-2 ahead.
Hull pulled another goal back via the penalty spot, after Kershaw
handled in the box. Preston went on to win the match as their
fitness told. Chambers grabbed his hat-trick with two simple
finishes towards the end of the match to make it 6-3.
Andy finished the scoring with a effort just inside the box,
as Hull tried to play the striker offside. North End played well
overall, in a tough and tense match. North End remain unbeaten
this season, going well at the top of the league.

Cowell's comments "
That score line does not tell the true story of
this morning's game between these two sides.
We Preston got of to a flyer scoring with our first attack with
Andy Dodwell 20 screamer flying in of the underside of the crossbar.
But Hull is a good side they are a young side but they have strong
players and for the next 20 mins they really got at us. No side
as put us under constant pressure like Hull did today so it was
no surprise when the equalized and while we were still reeling
from that they hit us with another one to go 2-1 in front!
We are also a strong side and we also keep our discipline and
keep doing things what we know are right and we rocked them back
on their heels by coming straight back of them to grab an equalizer
Chris Chambers finishing off a five man move.
Both sides were glad to see half time as this had been a pulsating
45 mins.
Second half I introduced Jason for Anthony down the right side
i just felt it was the right time to unleash Jason on the Hull
defence. I new this was the right sort a game for Jason but I
didn't realise what an impact he would have on it. Jason basically
won us the game with his two devastating runs down the right
hand side he had only been on the pitch five minutes when he
open up the Hull defence with his pace and scored a great goal
and within 15 mins of the restart he had put us 4-2 in front.
Hull never really recovers from that and even though a mistake
by a Preston player led to Hull reducing the areas from the penalty
spot and got the score line back to 4-3 the damage was done Their
center half got his marching orders shortly after for taking
one of our players out so after that it was basically game over
for Hull City.
Further goals by Chris Chambers and Andy Dodwell made them pay
the price for their Center half’s rash challenge and gave
the score line a rather flattering look
Footnote; I would like to thank my players for their efforts
today I though we battled for every ball and we also knocked
it around better that we have done for a while. I also think
if we haven’t have been on our game today we would have
paid the price because Hull were a good side so well done lads
you all did well and there was some great football played by
you guys today
Well done boys.
Man of the Match was the "team" I thought we really
gelled as a team today and there was a tremendous team sprit
between us all so well done again boys.
