Preston North End 8-2 PNE FANS XI

This was a no win situations for us, but saying that the main point of the exercise was for other PNE fans to see what where all about on and off the pitch. I had worked during the week to make it a good day for them, but i also i had to make sure we were prepared in the right way as well!. I don't think we would have heard the last of it if they had beat us so i had to make sure that didn't happen LOL.

I gave them the respect they deserved as fellow PNE fans but it was also impotent we went about our job in the right frame of mind. losing my entire back four before the game didn't help either but i still felt we have enough players in the squad to take any pressure of what ever back four i put out.

The game kicked off with a bit of tension in the air and both sides were well up for it. The Forum lads had us pinned back for the first few minutes but once Matty got hold of midfield and started releasing our front three then it was only a matter of time before we started to pin them back.

Chambers opening wasn't long in coming and this goal started a purple patch for us. Our passing and movement was of the highest order and the forum lads were struggling to get out of their own half as we pushed them back deeper and deeper. Goals followed at regular intervals with the pick of these being kershaw's stunning strike from just outside the box. 5-0 at half time to us was just reward for our efforts.

A couple of changes so a more even second half and to the forum teams credit they kept battling away but it was our first half efforts that had put the game out of sight. The final score of 8-2 was about right as we hit the woodwork on numerous occasions and plenty of other good opportunities were missed by our lads.

But the point of the exercise was for other PNE fans to see what we were about and hopefully i think that went very. On the pitch we are what we are which is a good side but it was also good for others to see we are a good bunch of the pitch as well.
