Liverpool 0-5 Preston North End

It's was surreal to say the least playing under the shadows of both the Liverpool and Everton ground's. The all place had real football feel to it we arrived at 10am but there was already Liverpool fans milling around i can't wait till we go there next season in a league game.

As for our game it was as tough a test as we have had all season. We took the lead only for Liverpool to equalize just before half time. Liverpool with their tails up must have really fancied their chances in the second half. But we had a word at half time about getting back to basics and getting the ball quicker up to our front men and that's what we did and as a result it was us who got our noses in front early in the second half. But just before that the Liverpool Striker missed a glorious chance to put his side in front.

We then grabbed another while they were still reeling. But Liverpool are a strong determined side and weren't going to let a load of sheep shaggers (to use their words LOL) get away with it without a fight to the death. And after a spell of route one football from the Liverpool lads which had us peg back for a while they managed to force a penalty out of us to make it 3-2 and game on!

But we are also made a strong stuff and back we went at them and Jason scored a peach of a goal just when we needed it to give us back the two goal lead. You could see their heads go down and we grabbed two further goals in the dying minutes to give us a 6-2 victory.

All credit to both sets of players who give it their all but i think our organization and our extra bit of quality especially up front was just enough to see us through to round 3. But it was a tough tough game and the Liverpool lads wearing the famous all red strip of their team made us work hard for our victory.

Thanks to all the players who made the trip to Stanley Park this morning and we now look forward to our next game away at Darlington next Saturday.
